Secrets of the Sherwood Courthouse

Lewis and Barbara Barton discuss the birth of Irion County, Texas and the creation of the courthouse.  Murders, land rushes,and prohibition cases kept officials busy until the 1936 vote.  When the courthouse was moved to Mertzon, the Sherwood Courthouse had a second life as churches, dances, and homecomings kept its rooms busy.  This little book has 83 pages with 34 illustrations.  It was written as a fund raiser to collect money for the repair of the courthouse.
